Thoughts: Logo Design Love

I just finished Logo Design Love by David Airey and liked it so much that I wanted to share my thoughts on it. In the book David shares his knowledge of creating brand identities over the years. While there are many books out there on the subject, David does a really good job breaking down his process for his designs, let’s you in on his mistakes early on in his career, and how to best work with clients. The third topic of working with clients I think is the best part of the book. He shows how to be control of the project from the very beginning when working with a client and how it’s more likely to be successful by doing so. While the book focuses on brand identity, most of what is discussed applies to most creative professionals whether you work alone or for a company.

If you want to learn more about David or his work, he has a blog that is a great inspiration.

When things get back to normal, I’m going to make it my goal to keep designing something new every week or two so that I can continue my progress as a designer. I really like what Nick Campbell does with his Five Second Projects so I might do those from time to time. Click here to read more »
